Titans Safety Julius Wood Suspended 6 Games for PED Violation, Sparks Roster Concerns

The NFL has suspended Tennessee Titans safety Julius Wood for six games after he violated the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances, the league announced. This suspension sidelines Wood for the remainder of the 2024 season and the first game of 2025.

Wood joined the Titans after being claimed off waivers from the Cowboys following final roster cuts in August. Despite being active for nine games, he has had a minimal role, logging just five defensive snaps and 115 on special teams, where he recorded two tackles.

With Wood’s suspension, the Titans currently have only 51 players on their roster. They are expected to activate cornerback Chidobe Awuzie from injured reserve to bolster their depth.

However, their safety group is thin, with just Amani Hooker, Daryl Worley, and Mike Brown available on the 53-man roster. This development raises concerns about the Titans’ defensive backfield depth as they navigate the remainder of the season.
