Broncos Star Ezra Mam Faces Court After Drug-Fueled Crash Leaves Two Injured
Brisbane Broncos star Ezra Mam has faced legal consequences after a head-on collision while under the influence of drugs. The 22-year-old five-eighth appeared in a Brisbane court, pleading guilty to charges of driving with drugs in his system and driving without a valid licence.
The incident occurred on October 18 in Bardon, a suburb in Brisbane’s west, when Mam’s ute collided with an Uber.
A woman and a child in the Uber sustained minor injuries from the crash. Mam failed an initial roadside drug test, with further confirmation coming from a secondary test conducted at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Reports revealed that Mam had a mix of substances, including cocaine, in his system at the time of the accident.
In the wake of the crash, Mam took steps toward rehabilitation, entering a four-week program and committing to a year of counselling. The court fined him $850 and disqualified his licence for at least six months.
