Bronny joined USC, spending a year as a Trojan before declaring for the 2024 NBA Draft. Recently, Bryce announced his commitment to Arizona, adding another chapter to the James family’s athletic journey.
LeBron addressed their decisions during an appearance on GoJo and Golic. He acknowledged the unique challenges and expectations tied to his Buckeye loyalty. “Everyone believes if I had kids, they’re automatically going to Ohio State,” LeBron explained. He praised Ohio State’s recruitment efforts, particularly their belief in Bryce’s development as a player and young man, but emphasized his excitement for Bryce’s next chapter at Arizona.
The NBA star added a touch of humor to the conversation, saying, “Hopefully, I don’t have to buy the gear. I have a lot of friends who are U of A alums, and hopefully, they can hook me up.”
Though neither son chose Ohio State, LeBron appreciates the bright side: their proximity to him in the western U.S. Bronny’s decision to attend USC allowed LeBron to attend several of his games in Los Angeles. Now, with Bryce heading to Arizona, the James family continues to navigate their own unique basketball legacies.
LeBron still holds out hope for the future, playfully hinting that his youngest, daughter Zhuri, might one day uphold the Buckeye tradition by attending Ohio State. For now, the proud father celebrates his children’s decisions and supports their individual journeys.
