In his first G League appearance since December 21, Bronny James delivered a standout performance, dropping a career-high 31 points to propel the South Bay Lakers to a 122-110 victory over the Rip City Remix on Friday night. James shot 10-of-22 from the field, including an impressive 5-of-11 from beyond the arc, while also contributing three assists, two rebounds, and two steals. However, the defining moment of the game was his electrifying poster dunk that brought the 623 fans in attendance to their feet.
Late in the third quarter, James seized the spotlight. Dribbling up the court, he maneuvered around a screen from Christian Koloko and charged down the lane, delivering a ferocious dunk over Sterling Manley to tie the game. “It felt great … it’s a highlight reel,” James said afterward. “Not much you can say about that, it was just crazy.”
Fueled by the momentum of James’ slam, South Bay closed the third quarter on a 9-4 run and controlled the tempo for most of the fourth. Quincy Olivari added critical support with 20 points and seven rebounds off the bench, while Koloko posted a strong double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
