The Golden State Warriors are set to sign forward Kevin Knox II for the remainder of the season, according to sources from ESPN. Knox, originally selected as the ninth overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, has been on a journey to secure a spot on the Warriors’ roster.
After signing two consecutive 10-day contracts with Golden State earlier this year, Knox played in seven games during February and March, making enough of an impact to earn a full-season deal. His signing also helps the Warriors meet the NBA’s requirement of having at least 14 players on standard contracts by Sunday, following multiple trades that left them with only 13 guaranteed deals.
This contract marks the culmination of a long process for Knox within the Warriors’ organization. His journey began in the 2024 NBA Summer League, where he was one of the standout performers. He then continued to develop his game in the G League with the Santa Cruz Warriors, impressing the franchise with his performance.
At 25, Knox is looking to revitalize his NBA career. Last season, he played for the Detroit Pistons, averaging 7.2 points per game while shooting 46.2% from the field across 31 games. Now, he has a chance to contribute to Golden State’s push for the playoffs.
