Judd Trump to Headline Hong Kong Snooker Exhibition Ahead of New Season
World No. 1 Judd Trump is set to take center stage this week in Hong Kong as he headlines a star-studded two-day exhibition event at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium on Tuesday and Wednesday. The popular Englishman, who now calls Hong Kong his adopted home, will be joined by fellow professionals Jack Lisowski, Zhang Anda, Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, and Chen Qien in a showcase event designed to build momentum ahead of the new 2025/26 snooker season.
This marks another milestone for snooker in Hong Kong following the successful return of major ranking events earlier this year. In March, the city hosted its first ranking tournament since 1989, culminating in Neil Robertson’s emphatic 10-0 whitewash of Stuart Bingham in the World Grand Prix final at the new Kai Tak Arena.
Robertson, the 2010 world champion and current world No. 8, recently announced that he and his family will be relocating to Hong Kong, calling it a “blessed land” where he has experienced great success and formed lasting connections. His move further solidifies the city’s growing importance in the global snooker landscape.
The 2025/26 season officially gets underway later this month in Leicester, where qualifiers for the Wuhan Open will be staged at the Mattioli Arena from June 22–24. This will be followed by the ranking event edition of the Championship League, set to run at the same venue from June 30 to July 23.
As top players gather in Hong Kong this week, fans can expect a thrilling display of skill and entertainment, offering a tantalizing preview of what promises to be an exciting new season of snooker.
