Ikanivere Demands Ruthless Precision as Drua Plot Redemption Against Highlanders
Fijian Drua co-captain Tevita Ikanivere has urged his team to sharpen their execution and maintain composure following a tough home defeat to the Crusaders in Round 8 of the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season. Reflecting on the match, Ikanivere highlighted the Drua’s malfunctioning lineout as a major setback that disrupted their rhythm and momentum during critical phases.
While crediting the Crusaders for their relentless defensive pressure, Ikanivere didn’t shy away from calling for accountability within his own squad. He emphasized that responsibility begins with perfecting the fundamentals, such as accurate lineout throws and well-timed jumps, to ensure they capitalize on key opportunities.
“The Crusaders closed the line well. The touch judge didn’t give us much room, but that’s no excuse—we have to own that and fix it,” he said.
With a crucial clash against the Highlanders looming this Saturday at 7:05 pm, Ikanivere insists the Drua must reset quickly, refine their systems, and bring a higher level of discipline and cohesion if they hope to turn things around and reignite their campaign.
