The Fiji Airways Men’s 7s team ended a 22-tournament title drought with a commanding 19-5 victory over Spain in the Dubai 7s final this morning. Despite Spain taking an early 5-0 lead through star player Pol Pla, Fiji responded with three unanswered tries to secure the title.

Filipe Sauturaga ignited Fiji’s comeback with a powerful try, followed by second-half strikes from captain Jerry Matana and Ilikimi Torosi. Sauturaga’s impressive performance earned him the Player of the Final award.

This long-awaited victory marked the team’s first title in two years and provided a moment of redemption for the squad.
