The Fiji Airways Men’s 7s team wrapped up their HSBC Perth 7s campaign in impressive fashion, securing 5th place with a determined 17-5 win over France.
Playmaker Terio Tamani set the pace early, slicing through the French defense in the third minute to score the opening try. He added the conversion, giving Fiji a 7-0 lead and showcasing his tactical brilliance and precise kicking, which kept the French on edge throughout the first half.
The second half highlighted Fiji’s renowned physicality and flair. Sakiusa Siqila powered through defenders to notch an exhilarating try, further stretching Fiji’s lead. Shortly after, Joji Nasova exhibited remarkable strength and agility, shrugging off tackles to score Fiji’s third try, sealing the game with a commanding performance.
France, though outplayed for much of the match, fought back valiantly. Enahemo Artaud crossed the try line in the final moments, securing a consolation try as the game concluded.
In the women’s division, Fijiana 7s finished 9th after overcoming Great Britain 26-17, ending their campaign on a high note.
