Ponipate Loganimasi Caps Stellar Year with Dream Team Honor

Fijian rugby star Ponipate Loganimasi has had an extraordinary year, capped off by being named in the World Rugby Sevens Dream Team of the Year at the prestigious World Rugby Awards.

Loganimasi’s remarkable journey began with a silver medal win at the Paris Sevens, where he was a standout performer for the Fiji 7s side. His exceptional form earned him a place in the Flying Fijians squad, making his debut during the Pacific Nations Cup in Japan.

Adding to his milestones, Loganimasi signed with the Fijian Drua to compete in the 2024 Super Rugby Pacific season, solidifying his rising stature in international rugby.

Joining Loganimasi in the Dream Team were other global stars, including South Africa’s Selvyn Davids, France’s Antoine Dupont and Aaron Grandidier Nkanang, Ireland’s Terry Kennedy, Australia’s Nathan Lawson, and Argentina’s Matías Osadczuk.

Dupont’s brilliance was further recognized as he won the Men’s Sevens Player of the Year award, while South Africa’s Pieter-Steph du Toit was named the 15s Player of the Year. England’s Ellie Kildunne took home the Women’s 15s Player of the Year accolade, and Australia’s Maddison Levi was crowned Women’s Sevens Player of the Year.

In breakthrough honors, New Zealand’s Wallace Sititi was named Men’s 15s Breakthrough Player of the Year, with Ireland’s Erin King earning the Women’s 15s Breakthrough award.
