Fiji’s preparations for the upcoming 2025 Pacific Nations Cup have taken an unexpected turn, with Olympic 7s gold medalist Joji Nasova being drafted into the FIJI Water Flying Fijians squad. The Ba-born speedster has been called up as a direct replacement for star backline maestro Semi Radradra, who has been ruled out of the tournament after suffering an injury during his club training.
Head coach Mick Byrne expressed both disappointment and optimism following the development. While acknowledging the impact of losing a world-class player like Radradra, Byrne highlighted the opportunity it presents for emerging talent such as Nasova. “Semi is a world-class player, and his presence will certainly be missed.
