The seven-time world champion was scheduled to face fellow Englishman Allan Taylor in the first round of the third ranking event of the season, but will now be replaced by Germany’s Umut Dikme. The Wuhan Open is set to run from August 24 to 30 in China.

Currently ranked No. 4 in the world and based in Dubai, O’Sullivan’s absence in Wuhan is a disappointment for fans, especially in China where he remains immensely popular. However, his priority appears to be longevity and maintaining peak condition for major tournaments.
