Fast, Furious, and Full of Flair: The 2025 Snooker Shoot Out Returns to Blackpool
The 2025 Snooker Shoot Out will take place from 10 to 13 December at the Tower Circus in Blackpool, England, bringing an exciting and fast-paced tournament back to one of its iconic venues. This event, officially known as the 2025 9Club Snooker Shoot Out, marks the 16th consecutive edition of the tournament, which was first revived in 2011. Over the years, it has developed into a unique spectacle, offering a thrilling twist on traditional snooker.
Unlike standard snooker tournaments, the Shoot Out is known for its innovative format where each match is played over a single frame, with a strict time limit of 10 minutes. Players face a 15-second shot clock for the first five minutes and 10 seconds for the final five, demanding quick thinking, precision, and nerve from each competitor. The pressure is intense as they battle against both their opponent and the clock, making every shot crucial.
The reigning champion, Tom Ford, will return to defend his title against the 2024 runner-up Liam Graham, with both players eager to make their mark on the competition. This year’s prize pool promises a rewarding haul, with the winner set to pocket £50,000, while the runner-up will take home £20,000. Players who make it to the semi-finals will earn £8,000, and those reaching the quarter-finals will secure £4,000. Additional prize money is on offer for the high break of the tournament, which is worth £5,000.
The event, which is part of the 2025-26 World Snooker Tour, will follow the 2025 UK Championship and precede the 2025 Scottish Open. As one of the most entertaining and unpredictable events on the snooker calendar, the Snooker Shoot Out promises to deliver exhilarating action for both players and fans alike.
