Warriors on the Hunt: Golden State Eyes Star Partner for Curry to Ignite Title Run

The Golden State Warriors are reportedly targeting a star player to pair with Stephen Curry before the NBA trade deadline, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. During an appearance on *NBA Today*, Charania revealed, “I’m told that the Warriors are on the real hunt for a star, a playmaker, a scorer alongside Stephen Curry.”

The Warriors have started the season strong, holding a 13-8 record despite Curry missing five games, in which they managed an impressive 4-1 performance. However, concerns remain about their ability to contend for another championship with their current roster composition.

Offseason addition Buddy Hield has provided a significant boost, shooting 42.8% from three-point range on 7.6 attempts per game. Meanwhile, Andrew Wiggins is averaging 17.5 points per game, his highest mark since the 2020-21 season. Yet, Wiggins as the team’s second-leading scorer may not be enough, especially after De’Anthony Melton suffered a season-ending torn ACL.
