Clash of the Titans: Bai Yulu and Mink Nutcharut Set for Explosive World Championship Final Rematch
Defending champion Bai Yulu and world No. 1 Mink Nutcharut are set to renew their rivalry in a highly anticipated rematch of last year’s Women’s World Snooker Championship final. The top two seeds will once again contest the title in Dongguan, China, where Bai narrowly edged Mink 6-5 in a thrilling decider in 2024 to capture her maiden world crown.
Bai, the current top seed, showed imperious form in the semi-finals on Monday, cruising to a 5-0 whitewash over compatriot Xia Yuying. Xia had impressed earlier in the tournament by knocking out 12-time champion Reanne Evans 4-1 in the last 16. However, she was no match for Bai’s clinical performance.
Meanwhile, Mink booked her place in the final with a commanding 5-1 victory over fellow Thai player Baipat Siripaporn, the 2022 champion. The world No. 1 will be determined to turn the tables this year after last season’s narrow defeat.
The final, played over a best-of-11 frames format, promises another tense and high-quality contest between two of the sport’s brightest stars as they battle for the coveted world title once again.
