Fijian Drua Strengthens Team Spirit and Community Bonds with Heartfelt School Project in Kadavu

The Fijian Drua rugby team is fostering stronger bonds within the squad and the wider community during their preseason camp in Kadavu. The team dedicated part of their time to a meaningful community outreach project, where they painted the toilets at Namalata Primary School in Vunisea. This simple yet impactful gesture not only demonstrates the team’s commitment to giving back, but also highlights the importance of teamwork and community support.

Head of Athletic Performance, Naca Cawanibuka, shared his thoughts on the significance of the project, explaining that it was designed to bring the players together through a shared activity. “The painting work is an opportunity for the boys to connect by doing something together. It’s a way to give back to the school and the community, showing our gratitude for their warm hospitality,” Cawanibuka said.

But the initiative was more than just a physical task. It served as a valuable team-building exercise, where the Drua players created lasting memories while reinforcing the values that will define their season ahead. Cawanibuka believes such experiences are crucial for building the team’s foundation and identity, ensuring that their strong connection off the field translates to success on it.
