Four-Star IOL Had a ‘Phenomenal Time’ at FSU
The Florida State Seminoles hosted another successful Junior Day on Saturday, with numerous highly-rated recruits in attendance. Among them was four-star interior offensive lineman G’Nivre Carr from Ocala, Florida, who plays for IMG Academy.
Florida State extended a scholarship offer to Carr back in 2022, and he has made several visits to Tallahassee since then. However, this visit marked his first since Mike Norvell reshuffled his coaching staff, bringing in Gus Malzahn to oversee the offense and Herb Hand to coach the offensive line. It’s clear that these changes have not negatively impacted FSU’s chances with Carr.
“The visit today was amazing, man. I had a phenomenal time today,” Carr shared with Matt LaSerre of Warchant. “I’m looking forward to coming back in the fall to watch them play. … I think I might come back in the spring. I’m not sure yet, but I’m gonna try.”
Malzahn and Hand had previously recruited Carr when they were at UCF, and their relationship with him was strengthened during his visit to FSU.
“Obviously, we already have a relationship, and today we just built on that,” Carr said. “It felt great seeing Coach Herb Hand today. He seemed a lot happier, more enthusiastic. … His message was just to keep developing, keep getting better, and focus on improving one percent every day.”

Florida State has already secured six commitments for its 2026 recruiting class, but only one offensive lineman. Adding more talent on the offensive line, and Carr in particular, would be a huge boost. Here’s everything you need to know about him.

Recruitment
FSU first offered Carr a scholarship on May 11, 2022, when he was in the eighth grade. Since then, he has visited Tallahassee multiple times and plans to return for an official visit during the 2025 season.
