Washington Wizards forward Khris Middleton played the first NBA game against his former Milwaukee Bucks team. After Friday’s game, Middleton shared a moment with several former Bucks coaches and teammates, include Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Despite a late comeback attempt by Middleton and the Wizards, the Bucks were able to hold onto a 104-101 victory. Middleton finished with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists against his former franchise.

Like Middleton, Kyle Kuzma was also facing his former squad. Kuzma posted 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in Milwaukee’s victory. A video clip posted by the Bucks shows several members of the Bucks showing love to Middleton.

Head coach Doc Rivers embraced Middleton, patting the longtime Bucks sharpshooter on the chest. Antetokounmpo also made it a point to walk over to Middleton and hug his former teammate.

“All love for a legend,” the Bucks posted in a Friday message on X along with the video clip.

“22 forever,” a fan added.

“That’s so sad,” said another.

“Yall better put his number in the rafters,” one person noted.

“He will be back soon,” another remarked. “Should already start building the statue.”

After the Bucks swapped Middleton for Kuzma in a Feb. 5 trade, Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer revealed that Antetokounmpo was a “key element” of the trade talks.

“I’m told a key element of the trade talks that brought Kyle Kuzma to Milwaukee in exchange for championship mainstay Khris Middleton: a large vote of support for Kuzma from one Giannis Antetokounmpo,” Fischer said in a Feb. 5 message on X.
