Kevon Looney, now in his 10th NBA season—all with the Golden State Warriors—recently shared exciting personal news. The former UCLA standout announced his engagement via Instagram on Tuesday, a post that quickly garnered over 20,000 likes in just an hour.
Looney expressed his love with the caption: “To Our Love, Always And Forever.” His Warriors teammates and other NBA figures flooded the comments with congratulations. Stephen Curry responded with “Yessir Toon!”, while Jonathan Kuminga added, “Yesssiiiiiiirrrrrr Congrats my brother.” Other well-wishers included former Warriors Harrison Barnes and Alfonzo McKinnie, Buddy Hield, and the official Warriors team account.
Looney has been a key figure for Golden State since being selected with the 30th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Over his career, he has averaged 5.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game while shooting 57.6% from the field across 572 appearances. A three-time NBA champion, Looney has also played in 77 playoff games, including 27 starts. One of his most memorable postseason performances came on May 21, 2022, when he delivered a career-high 21 points on 10-for-14 shooting, along with 12 rebounds, helping the Warriors take a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals.
This season, Looney is averaging 5.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists while shooting 51.0% from the field in 49 games. The Warriors, currently the 10th seed in the Western Conference at 28-27, have gone 6-4 in their last ten games. As they push for playoff positioning, they’ll return from the All-Star break with a road matchup against the Sacramento Kings on Friday.
