Fiji 7s Coach Kolinisau Bids Farewell to His Father, Mentor, and Superhero

Fiji Airways Men’s 7s Coach, Osea Kolinisau, is laying his beloved father, mentor, and superhero to rest today. Reverend Tuikoro Kolinisau, a former military officer and founder of the Kingdom Ambassador’s International Fellowship, played a pivotal role in shaping his son’s life, both on and off the rugby field.

Kolinisau vividly remembers the defining moment when he was chosen to captain the Fiji 7s team. That day, his father summoned him to their family home in Cunningham and asked him to make a life-changing decision. Reverend Tuikoro posed a profound question: Would his son follow him in his spiritual journey toward God’s Kingdom, or continue on his worldly path? Without hesitation, Kolinisau chose to align his life with his father’s teachings, embracing faith and discipline as guiding principles. Looking back, he has never regretted that decision.

Arriving home from Vancouver with the Fiji 7s team after their narrow 12-10 loss to South Africa in the Cup semi-finals, Kolinisau now turns his focus to honoring his father’s memory. Today, he will gather with family, friends, and loved ones for a church service, followed by the burial at Vatuwaqa Cemetery—a solemn farewell to the man who shaped his journey in faith and rugby.
