New Jets OC Tanner Engstran Vows to Ignite High-Speed, Explosive Offense in 2025
Every NFL offense aspires to play fast, aggressive, and explosive football. But for a team like the New York Jets—fresh off a major roster and coaching staff overhaul—that’s easier said than done. Building the kind of chemistry that allows for high-speed execution and seamless no-huddle operations takes time, something the Jets don’t have the luxury of after such sweeping changes.
Still, first-year offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand is clear about the identity he wants to establish. Speaking to reporters, Engstrand outlined his vision: “We want to play fast. We want to be physical. We want to be aggressive. We want to be explosive. We want to be detailed. When people watch our tape, those traits should jump out every week.”
Engstrand, who brings play-calling experience from the XFL and served as an assistant with the Detroit Lions, is stepping into his first NFL offensive coordinator role. While the challenge is significant, he’s embracing it with confidence.
“I’m absolutely ready,” he said. “I’ve been a coordinator in several spots over the last nine years. This may be my first shot in the NFL, but I’m confident and excited for the opportunity.”
