Fiji’s Finest Face Off: Only the Best Will Board the Plane to LA
With the World Championship in Los Angeles fast approaching, 22 determined players are currently fighting to earn a spot on the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team. Head Coach Osea Kolinisau shared an update with the media this morning, confirming that the squad is free from any serious injuries as preparations intensify.
Kolinisau reflected on a demanding training week, where the team faced tough conditions due to poor weather and a heavy pitch. Despite the challenges, the squad pushed through, ending the week with a grueling session at the sand dunes, a key part of their conditioning program.
As the countdown to the tournament continues, Fiji finds itself in Pool B, grouped with formidable opponents—New Zealand, Spain, and Australia. Fiji’s campaign kicks off against New Zealand at 6:06 am on Sunday, May 4, followed by clashes with Australia at 9:07 am and Spain at 12:13 pm. The semi-finals are set for 8:07 am on Monday, May 5, with the cup final slated for 12:07 pm the same day.
