Snooker Icon Mark Williams Unleashes His ‘Beast’ After Historic World Final Run

Snooker legend Mark Williams recently gave fans a glimpse into how he enjoys the rewards of a long and successful career, following his impressive run to the World Snooker Championship final. The 50-year-old, known affectionately as ‘The Welsh Potting Machine,’ defeated fellow Class of ’92 great John Higgins in a thrilling quarter-final and then overcame Judd Trump to secure a place in the final. By doing so, Williams became the oldest player ever to reach the Crucible final and achieved the rare feat of making the world final in four different decades.

Although he fell short in the championship match, losing 18-12 to China’s rising star Zhao Xintong, Williams still walked away with a hefty £200,000 prize as the runner-up. Shortly after the tournament, he shared photos on social media of a bold black Hummer he’s been having customized, writing: “My beast is nearly ready. @RonSkinners doing all the work to make it mint. #thisthingdoesglllnspermile.”

Despite speculation that the Hummer was a post-tournament splurge, Williams clarified that he had actually purchased it prior to the championship. A proud son of Cwm, Williams added that the rugged vehicle is perfect for handling the Welsh terrain.
