Ben Te Kura, the towering 22-year-old prop from the Brisbane Broncos, has been granted a six-week leave of absence to attend an NFL training camp. Standing at an impressive 205 centimeters, Te Kura is the tallest player in the NRL, and his physical presence has drawn significant interest from the NFL for quite some time.
The Broncos have supported Te Kura’s decision, acknowledging the long-term NFL interest in the young athlete. The six-week training camp will serve as an opportunity for him to explore his potential in American football. At the end of the period, he will either return to the Broncos or, depending on the developments, his absence could be extended to allow him to pursue further opportunities in the NFL.
Although Te Kura has struggled with injuries, limiting him to just five NRL games since his 2024 debut, his towering frame and athleticism have kept him on the radar for NFL scouts.
