Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is set to make history once again on Sunday night at the Chase Center when he appears in his record-extending 21st NBA All-Star Game.

Averaging 24.3 points, 9.0 assists and 7.7 rebounds in 48 games this season, the four-time MVP continues to add to his legendary résumé, further cementing his status as arguably the greatest player of all time.

James, 40, made his first All-Star appearance in 2005 and has since shared the court with some of the game’s biggest icons, from retired legends like Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal to current superstars such as Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

James was notably absent from Saturday night’s festivities, skipping Media Day and shootaround. The NBA confirmed his unavailability for these events on Saturday.

“LeBron James will not be available for today’s NBA All-Star Practice and Media Day,” the NBA announced on X. “He will hold a pregame media availability on Sunday at Chase Center. Time will be shared later today.”

This is not particularly unusual for James, who often arrives to All-Star Weekend after scheduled media availabilities, and the NBA has since announced an update on the Lakers star.

The NBA has now confirmed James will hold a pre-game media session at 3:20 p.m. PT before taking the court for Sunday’s event.

The 22-year veteran is set to headline Shaq’s OG Team in the NBA’s new All-Star Game format, teaming up with Olympic teammates Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. Fans and media members will hear from the NBA’s all-time leading scorer prior to the league’s first-ever tournament-style All-Star Game.

James holds impressive All-Star Game stats, averaging 21.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in his 20 appearances (via StatMuse). He has won All-Star Game MVP three times, trailing only Kobe Bryant and Bob Pettit (four) on the all-time list.
