Hamilton in Despair: Ferrari’s F1 Nightmare Continues with Fourth Consecutive Q1 Exit at Abu Dhabi
Lewis Hamilton’s first season with Ferrari has been nothing short of challenging, as he endured his fourth consecutive Q1 elimination at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The seven-time world champion, who made the switch from Mercedes to Ferrari in the off-season, has found himself in a difficult position, with his chances of securing a podium finish in the 2025 F1 season now looking slim.
Hamilton’s latest setback came after a difficult qualifying session, where he managed only 16th on the timesheets. This marked another disappointing performance for the British driver, who had already made headlines at the Las Vegas Grand Prix by becoming the first Ferrari driver to qualify last on pace since 2009. Earlier in the season, he also suffered two Q1 exits within 24 hours at the Qatar Grand Prix.
After qualifying, Hamilton admitted to being at a loss for words. “I don’t have the words to express how I feel,” he said. “There’s not a lot I can do from there. Same thing every weekend for me, so I’ll just give it my best shot.”
His preparation for qualifying was also impacted by a crash during the final practice session at Turn 9, which had a noticeable effect on his performance. Hamilton was forced to miss FP1 due to Ferrari’s rookie requirements, and although he noted the car felt good, he struggled with bottoming and loss of rear grip.
With the season coming to a close, Hamilton remains hopeful but resigned to the fact that it has been a tough year for both him and Ferrari.
