Draymond Green’s Fiery Courtside Clash with Buddy Hield Goes Viral in Warriors’ Redemption Win
The Golden State Warriors bounced back from a tough loss to the Los Angeles Clippers with a crucial victory over the Phoenix Suns on Saturday. The return of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green proved pivotal, as both veterans delivered strong performances. Curry contributed 22 points, six rebounds, six assists, and a steal, while Green added an impressive stat line of 16 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and a block.
However, the game also grabbed attention for a heated moment involving Green and teammate Buddy Hield. During the contest, microphones caught Green calling out Hield in colorful language. The clip quickly went viral on social media, prompting Green to address the incident after the game.
“As a leader, you have to try different methods,” Green explained. “Sometimes you approach a guy calmly, and sometimes you have to challenge him. I’ve only played with Buddy for about 30 games, so I’m still learning what motivates him. In that moment, we needed a spark, and that’s why I went at him the way I did.”
Green was unfazed by the viral moment, adding, “Mics pick up everything these days. I’m not bothered—I’d say it again right into the mic.”
Despite Hield going scoreless on 0-for-7 shooting from beyond the arc, Green expressed confidence in his teammate, emphasizing that the Warriors trust Hield will rediscover his rhythm and deliver when it matters most.
