WUHAN IGNITES THE STORM! World No. 1 Battle Begins as Thai Stars Brace for September!
There will be no time for a break as the snooker season enters one of its busiest stretches. From Wuhan to Shenzhen, the next several weeks promise a relentless run of ranking events, with Thai players set to battle through one tournament after another.
The action begins with the Wuhan Open 2026, running from August 23–29 in China. While no Thai players remain in the main draw after falling in qualifying, the tournament itself has plenty of drama. Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump, Mark Selby, Zhao Xintong, Ding Junhui, Neil Robertson and defending champion Xiao Guodong are among the stars chasing glory.
Can Xiao make it three Wuhan titles in a row? Or will a new champion emerge?
The focus then turns to the British Open, August 31–September 6, where Thailand will be represented by Moo, Man and Tim. The following week, the English Open brings F and Man into the main draw.
And then comes the marathon.
From September 13 onward, F, Moo, Man, Tim and Mind are scheduled for action across the Northern Ireland Open qualifiers, International Championship qualifying and Scottish Open qualifying. That is tournament after tournament, with barely enough time to catch a breath.
The journey continues with the Shenzhen Open, September 28–October 4, where Thailand’s Thepchaiya Un-Nooh will take centre stage.
Meanwhile, Wuhan offers another major storyline: the battle for the world No. 1 ranking. Zhao Xintong, Neil Robertson, Wu Yize, Mark Selby and Judd Trump are separated by a narrow margin, making every frame and every victory crucial.
With 175,000 ranking points awaiting the champion, Wuhan could dramatically reshape the rankings.
