Semi Trailer Rolls Into Japan: Rugby Superstar Semi Radradra Joins Shizuoka Blue Revs in Blockbuster Move
Former NRL powerhouse and Parramatta Eels cult hero, Semi Radradra, has officially signed with the Shizuoka Blue Revs, continuing his journey in the 15-man code. The Fijian-born star, known for his devastating combination of speed and strength, will compete in Japan’s Rugby League One competition next season.
Nicknamed the ‘Semi Trailer’ during his time in the NRL, Radradra made a name for himself as one of the most destructive wingers in rugby league. His performances for the Parramatta Eels captured the attention of fans and selectors alike, culminating in a single appearance for the Australian Kangaroos in 2016, alongside stints with the World All Stars and Prime Minister’s XIII.
In 2017, Radradra made the high-profile switch from rugby league to rugby union, showcasing his versatility and athletic prowess. Since then, he has carved out a successful career in the union world, representing Fiji in 21 international matches. His impressive resume includes appearances at the 2019 and 2023 Rugby World Cups, as well as a gold medal at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics with the Fiji 7s team.
Now 33 years old, Radradra is set to bring his veteran experience and explosive talent to the Shizuoka Blue Revs. Speaking on the move, he expressed his excitement about joining the club:
