Lewis Hamilton Sells £13M Supercar Collection — But Dreams of Building His Own Ferrari Masterpiece
Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has made a surprising revelation ahead of the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix: he no longer owns any cars. The former Mercedes driver, known for his once-impressive multi-million-pound garage, says he has sold off his entire car collection to focus on a newfound passion – art.
“I don’t have any cars anymore,” Hamilton admitted when asked if he was eyeing Ferrari’s latest flagship, the F80. “I’m more into art nowadays. If I was going to get a car, it would be the F40. But that’s a nice piece of art.”
Hamilton’s former collection was legendary in its own right. With an estimated value of £13 million, his garages in Monaco and Los Angeles were home to a dazzling array of hypercars, classic machines, and ultra-rare limited editions. Though the exact list of cars was never fully confirmed, Hamilton was often seen behind the wheel of these machines – showcasing both his love for design and performance.
However, in a shift that reflects a deeper lifestyle transformation, Hamilton has let go of all his cars and redirected his energy toward collecting art. Still, there remains one machine that tugs at his heart: the iconic Ferrari F40. Often considered one of the greatest supercars ever built, the F40’s raw performance and aggressive styling have made it a favorite among purists – and clearly, Hamilton is no exception.
Despite stepping away from car ownership, the British driver hasn’t lost his love for Italian engineering entirely. He frequently rides motorcycles and has been spotted on a Ducati Panigale V4 S and his MV Agusta F4 LH44, a bike he co-designed.
Hamilton also has aspirations beyond racing and collecting. “One of the things I really want to do is I want to design a Ferrari,” he revealed earlier in the season. “I want to do an F44 – the baseline of an F40, with the actual stick shift. That’s what I’m going to work on for the next few years.”
Though he may have cleared his garage, Hamilton’s automotive dreams are far from over.
